At the Sussex v Gloucestershire Royal London One Day Cup game at The Saffrons, Eastbourne on Sunday 14th May 2017 the SUSSEX CRICKET FOUNDATION made a donation of £7500 to the Matthew Hobden Trust whose aim is ‘to provide financial support for young cricketers who otherwise couldn’t afford to play the game’.

Matthew was an outstanding young fast bowler for Sussex who passed away aged 22 in January 2016.

Pictured are members of the Hobden family receiving the cheque from Stuart Whittingham and Jon Lewis, together with John Abbott, the President of Sussex Cricket and Jon Filby, the Chairman of the Sussex Cricket Foundation.’
