On Sunday 2nd July, Sussex Cricket Foundation took the opportunity to show case it’s stunning Blackstone Academy Ground, sponsored by Hurstpierpoint College. Under the backdrop of wall to wall sunshine, both the Trustees and their guests enjoyed two competitive games of cricket, along with food and refreshments.
Secretary Nigel Russell explained “Through creating better futures for all, we want to get adults involved, children involved, women involved, disabled people involved and people from deprived backgrounds involved. Then, we keep them involved in the game. Through Health and Education programmes, we show cricket as an inclusive force for social good in the community.”
Guest Malcolm Thorpe from Haywards Heath said “It is very well run with some very committed people. Evidence of that is the caliber of Sussex staff who have turned out today. Our Foundation is perhaps the best in the country who are operating on many levels. I went to a Sussex visually impaired match last season as organised by the Foundation and it was great”.
CEO Rob Andrew commented “This ground is amazing and anyone playing or watching cricket here would be inspired by the place”.
It’s time to get involved and embrace this amazing Foundation vibe. To read our Annual Review, follow the link below –http://sussexcricketfoundation.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/SCF-Annual-Review.pdf
